A parcel that delivers itself if you ever can't.

Making a parcel takes five steps

    Name the parcel and pick the date it is released if you do not extend it.

    Add people by email, Telegram or phone. Each parcel has its own recipients and its own questions, so your partner and your business partner never see each other's.

    Content

    Add files, notes and anything saved in your vault: logins, wallet recovery details, where the documents are, a letter. Then choose where the encrypted file is kept.

    Encryption

    Write questions only your recipient can answer, or use their OpenPGP key. Your browser encrypts the parcel before anything is uploaded. If you are stuck for questions, say who the parcel is for and we suggest some. Only that relationship is sent to OpenAI.

    Preview the parcel as your recipient will see it. Print an access sheet with a QR code if you want a copy on paper.

While it waits

We remind you 7 days, 3 days and 12 hours before the date. One click moves it. If you do nothing, it is delivered.

  • Extend one parcel, all of them at once, or use a private link that moves every waiting parcel without signing in.
  • Until a parcel is sent you can change its recipients or its date, or delete it.
  • Every parcel keeps a record of what happened to it. The record is append-only: the database rejects any change to it.

What it looks like from their side

No account, no app, and no password you have to give them in advance.

  1. They are notified By email, Telegram or SMS, whichever you set up for them.
  2. They open your link One page. Nothing to install, and nothing to sign up for.
  3. They answer your questions Their answers are what produce the decryption key. There was never a password for anyone to lose, or for us to hold.
  4. They get what you sent them Files to download, notes to read, and a self-contained copy they can keep offline.

You can also tell recipients the parcel exists the moment you create it, so the eventual message is expected rather than a surprise. The contents still unlock only after the deadline.

What we can and cannot see

We store the encrypted parcel and hold no key that opens it.

Your browser

  2. Your browser encrypts it The key is derived from your recipients' answers with Argon2, or the parcel is encrypted straight to their OpenPGP public key.
  3. Only the ciphertext leaves AES-256 under the OpenPGP standard, with SHA-3 for integrity.

What that means in practice

A copy of our database is not a copy of your parcels, and no request to us can produce their contents. The same fact cuts the other way, and is worth knowing before you rely on it: if nobody can answer your questions, nobody can open the parcel, and we cannot open it for them. Choose questions the right person will still be able to answer years from now.

Where the encrypted parcel is kept

Nothing to set up. Parcels are kept in Amazon S3 with Object Lock, so a stored archive cannot be quietly overwritten or deleted.
Your own Google Drive Optional
Connect it once and choose it when you create a parcel. Your browser uploads the encrypted archive straight into a folder you pick, without passing through our servers. We can only reach files Parcel Rocket created there, not the rest of your Drive. On Premium a parcel there can be up to 10 GB. A parcel kept in your Drive depends on that file: delete it, or disconnect the Drive, and the parcel can no longer be delivered.

Your account

  • Add a code from your authenticator app at sign-in. It applies whether you sign in with a password or with Google.
  • See every device that is signed in to your account, and sign any of them out.
  • Choose how long a session lasts before you are signed out.

If Parcel Rocket stops existing

A delivered parcel can be downloaded as a single self-contained HTML file that opens from disk with no server involved, and an access sheet can be printed in advance. Nothing you keep here needs this site to carry on existing in order to be opened later.

Questions

What exactly is a parcel?

An encrypted package of files, notes and saved records, addressed to people you name and sealed until a date you set. Until that date it just waits. You can change its recipients or its date, or delete it, whenever you like.

How does Parcel Rocket decide it is time to deliver?

By one thing: the date on the parcel. There is no inactivity detection and nobody is asked to confirm anything. We remind you seven days, three days and twelve hours before the date, and extending takes one click. If you might be away, set the date far enough out that a week of warning is plenty, and bookmark the private extend link, which moves every waiting parcel without signing in. If nothing is extended, the date arrives and the parcel is delivered.

Do my recipients need an account?

No. They open a link and answer the questions you chose, and their answers produce the key. There was no password to hand over in advance, and none for us to hold. If they use OpenPGP, you can encrypt to their public key instead.

What if my recipient cannot answer the questions?

Then the parcel cannot be opened, by them or by us. It is the direct cost of us not holding a key. Pick questions that a specific person will still answer the same way in ten years, tell them roughly what to expect, and consider a printed access sheet kept somewhere sensible.

Can I use it without ever creating a parcel?

Yes. Plenty of people start with the password vault, which is free and works on its own, and create their first parcel later. Anything already saved in the vault can be dropped into one when you do.

What happens to my parcels if my subscription ends?

A parcel that is already scheduled is still sent on its date. To move that date further out you need to renew first.
